Alarm Companies in Chicago: The Most Recommended, Measured on leading AI assistants
Measured July 2026 · Updated quarterly
Business owners in Chicago don't just search anymore — they ask leading AI assistants who to call. In July 2026 we put the answer on record: 8 separate checks, phrased 4 different ways, run against 75 Chicago-area alarm companies.
Only 27 of those 75 companies were ever recommended: a 36% hit rate. The steadiest answer was Alert Protective, Inc., named in 7 of 8 checks.
Forest Security, Inc. landed just behind, named in 6 of 8 checks. 8 more companies came up less often and are listed below.
There is no number one here on purpose. Ask AI the same question twice and the answer can change, so we publish how many of the 8 checks named each company instead of a place that would move if we asked again. Companies named in only one check aren't listed.
For scale: of the 34 metros in this edition, Chicago's cohort of 75 alarm companies was the 3rd largest.
Only 27 of 75
Chicago-area alarm companies we benchmarked ever get recommended by AI — 8 checks, 4 phrasings, run July 2026.
Chicago's measured alarm company leaderboard
Rankings are measured and cannot be purchased — sponsored blocks are labeled advertising and sit outside the ranked list.
The Chicago board runs 10 deep. Read it left to right: company, where it operates from, how many of the 8 checks named it, and its Google review count for context.
Ask AI the same question twice and the answer can change. So we do not crown a number one. We publish how many of the 8 checks named each company. Companies named in more checks are the ones AI keeps coming back to. Companies named in only one check are not listed: a single mention does not repeat reliably.

Word for word: the Chicago alarm questions
Here are the prompts behind the numbers, verbatim. The count beside each one is how many companies AI named in that answer.
| What we asked leading AI assistants | Companies named | In our Chicago cohort |
|---|---|---|
| “Who is the best alarm company in Chicago, Illinois?” | 15 | 12 |
| “I need an alarm system installed and monitored in Chicago, Illinois. Who should I hire?” | 15 | 13 |
| “What is the most recommended alarm company in Chicago, Illinois?” | 15 | 9 |
| “What are the top rated alarm companies near Chicago, Illinois?” | 16 | 10 |
The gap between the two right-hand columns is companies AI named that are not verified Chicago-area alarm companies — national brands, directories, out-of-market firms, and names we could not pin to exactly one business. Those are reported here but never ranked.
Chicago alarm companies, by the numbers
These are derived directly from the 8 Chicago checks and the verified cohort behind them. Nothing here is modelled, projected, or borrowed from a different market.
- The listed companies hold 335 Google reviews between them.
- AI's Chicago answers pull from the wider metro, including companies in River Grove, Elmwood Park and Blue Island.
- Compared with the edition-wide average (39%), Chicago's 36% sits below the line.
- Alert Protective, Inc. was named in 7 of 8 checks — the closest thing Chicago has to a consensus answer.
Chicago versus the 34-metro average
Because every metro got identical prompts and an identical method, Chicago can be read against the whole run instead of on its own. The side-by-side:
| Alarm companies benchmarked in Chicago | 75 of 2,128 nationwide |
|---|---|
| Named by AI in Chicago | 27 (36%) |
| Named across the whole edition | 820 (39%) |
| AI checks run in Chicago | 8 (4 phrasings) |
| Cohort size rank | #3 of 34 metros |
What happened to the other Chicago alarm companies
The short list is short for a reason: 48 Chicago alarm companies went completely unmentioned across all 8 checks.
We measured that they were absent — we did not measure why, and this page makes no claim about the quality of anyone's work. A company can run clean installs for twenty years and still never be named. What it means is narrower and more useful: the Chicago customers who ask leading AI assistants first are being sent somewhere else.
The practical consequence is easy to state. A Chicago customer who opens AI and asks who to call gets a handful of names, and right now those names come from the 27 on this page. Every company outside that set is competing for the customers who search some other way instead.
How this Chicago list is built — and what it is not
The grouping is mechanical. Each mention in an answer is one point, the points are added up, and companies with the same total share a group listed alphabetically. Nothing about a Chicago company's size, age, or spending enters the calculation.
The list is measured, never sold. No Chicago alarm company can pay, sponsor, or apply its way onto it, and no company was contacted before it was measured. Advertising on this page is labeled "Sponsored" and sits outside the measured list. That rule is what makes the board worth citing.
Every quarter the same checks run again, unchanged. Counts move between editions, and a Chicago company absent today can be listed in the next one.

More Chicago security rankings
Plenty of Chicago companies do alarm work alongside cameras, access control, or fire systems — and those are separate questions with separate answers. Each gets its own measured board, built from its own checks:
- Commercial security systems in Chicago — plus the measured fire alarm, access control, and security camera lists for the metro.
- Every metro we benchmark — the national picture.
The Chicago alarm board, explained
Does AI recommend many alarm companies in Chicago?
Very few. Of the 75 Chicago-area companies we benchmarked in July 2026, only 27 were ever named across 8 checks — 36%. The rest never came up.
What's the most recommended alarm company in Chicago right now?
Right now, Alert Protective, Inc. — recommended in 7 of the 8 checks, and the only company at that level in Chicago.
Why don't you rank the Chicago companies 1, 2, 3?
We tested it. Running the identical questions a second time moved the top name in a large share of markets, but a company named in most checks was named in most checks again. The reliable number is how many of the 8 checks named you — so that's what the page shows, and equal counts share a group.
Which questions produced the Chicago list?
We asked 4 business owner-style questions, such as "Who is the best alarm company in Chicago, Illinois?", and logged each company AI named in response. All the phrasings we used are shown above.
Is a spot on the Chicago board for sale?
No — and that's the point. The list is measured, never sold; no payment, sponsorship, or relationship moves a company onto it. A company can buy a labeled sponsored block beside the list, which changes nothing about the list.
My company serves Chicago but isn't here — why?
Either AI never named it in our July 2026 checks, or it came up in only one of them — and one mention isn't steady enough to publish. Neither says anything about the quality of the work, only that business owners who ask AI are being sent elsewhere.
Is this list for home alarm systems or business alarm systems?
Both — the questions we ask leading AI assistants are the general ones people actually type, so the companies that come back install and monitor alarms for houses and for businesses. Companies that only do fire alarm and life-safety work are measured separately on our fire alarm board.
Do you rank Chicago alarm companies on price or monitoring fees?
No. We measure one thing — who AI names — and we don't collect pricing, monitoring rates, or contract terms, so nothing on this page should be read as a cost comparison. Ask the companies below directly for their numbers.
Where does the list of 75 Chicago alarm companies come from?
It is a verified list of alarm companies operating in the Chicago area, built before any question was asked. That order matters: the cohort is fixed first, then AI is asked, then the answers are matched back against it. A company AI names that isn't a Chicago alarm company doesn't get counted, and a name that matches more than one business is dropped rather than guessed at.
Why don't the big national brands dominate this Chicago list?
Nothing in the method favors anyone. We ask a local question — who to call in Chicago — and record whatever comes back. The board reflects the answers, so if a national brand isn't on it, that's because AI didn't name it in these checks, not because we filtered it out.
Why does it matter what AI says about alarm companies?
Google shows a page of options; AI gives a few names and people call them. That shortlist is the thing worth measuring, and for Chicago it turned out to be very short.
New to Chicago? These alarm companies are just getting started.
Everything above this line was measured. The list on this page comes from asking AI assistants real questions and counting who they named — no one can buy their way onto it.
This section is different, and we want to be plain about it. The businesses below are brand new. They have not been measured, they have no rank and no score, and they are not part of the list above. They are here because they asked to be, we checked that they are real, and a business that opened last month has no way to show up in a ranking built on history. Nobody paid for a spot here — it is free, and it is not an endorsement.
